Harvest Festival

Kalamazoo County 4-H had a Harvest Festival on October 25. A lot of hard work was done by the clubs and leaders. A great time was had by all. Enjoy the pictures!

Galesburg United



The Galesburg United 4-H club held their meeting in the Galesburg Elementary Cafeteria. The club worked on re-enrollment and prepared for their upcoming fundraiser, The Holiday Mart on November 1, 2008.

Oshtemo Community Club

The Oshtemo Community Club held their October club meeting in their "Club House" which is the Old Oshtemo Township Town Hall on 8th Street. Around the room they have created a "Service Chain" which shows all the community service the club has done
For thier club activity they had the option of making spiders or ghosts Halloween decorations.




County Center 4-H Club

The County Center Community Club had a busy October meeting. First they did their monthly activity which was decorating pumpkins...........


.....and Gracelyn Wilfong was interviewed by Rick Shields to be on WKZO. She will be on Monday, October 6 between 5:35-5:40 a.m. and during the 11:45 a.m. report.

Portage Partners



The Portage Partners Community Club held their October meeting. The members completed a craft project of Halloween magnets. They gave Barb Vizard a card and a cake as a way of saying thanks for being their leader.

Check out the new blog 4-H johnslist that has been created as a venue for Kalamazoo County 4-H members to sell 4-H related materials. The web address is www.kzoo4hjohnslist.blogspot.com All you need to do is email John @ burhansj@msu.edu with the specifics of the 4-H related item you are selling such as a tack box along with your contact information and it will be posted to this blog. Including a picture of the item in the email is encouraged.

4-H Storefront Displays

Kalamazoo County 4-H Community Clubs had the opportunity to put up displays throughout the county celebrating 100 years of 4-H and promoting 4-H within their communities. The 4-H office staff went and judged the entries on September 30th. The winning club is the County Center Community Club and they receive a pizza party. All the clubs who participated had very creative displays.
The County Center Community Club put up a display in the Comstock Township Library Lobby.
The Climax Community Club put up a display in Downtown Climax.



The Hickory Corners Community Club made a display at the Richland Library.


4-H Storefront Displays, continued

The Pavilion Community Club put up a display at Lakeshore Market on Sprinkle Road by Long Lake. They received bonus points for including a picture of the 4-H Youth Educator in their display.

The Richland Community Club made a display at the entry way to the Tractor Supply Company on Gull Road. Unfortunately there was a glare when we took the picture.

The Galesburg-Augusta Community Club painted a storefront at Double Features Movie Rental on East Michigan in Downtown Galesburg.
