Bi-State Poultry Clinic




Kalamazoo County 4-H members had the opportunity to attend the Bi-State Poultry Clinic at MSU's campus on February 21. They learned about poultry diseases, nutrition, anatomy and had some showmanship tips. The anatomy class was very “hands on” – they got to dissect broiler hens.

Galesburg United - Craft Project







One of Galesburg United craft project's activities was making things from duct tape. They made wallets at their meeting.

Members of the Galesburg United 4-H club were hard at work making Ukrainian Easter eggs (Pysanky). It was quite the adventure.

Richland 4-H Club












The Richland 4-H club was busy at their February club meeting. First, one of it’s members, Caleb St. John presented the group with an archery demonstration. The demonstration included such things as how to string the bow, how to approach the starting line, and how to shoot the bow. Next, the 4-Hers were able to make Valentines that were taken to residents at the Plainwell Pines nursing home. After completing their Valentines, the kids were able to decorate their own Valentine cookies. Everyone including the kids and parents had a great time celebrating Valentines Day!



Climax Willing Workers












Bookmarks and bead bracelets anyone? The Climax Willing Workers 4-Hers were able to make bead bracelets and bookmarks at their February Club meeting. Each member made a bookmark with the same colored beads…the beads represented the amount of daily servings each person should get based on the food pyramid.



Fulton Lucky Clovers 4-H Club












The Fulton Lucky Clovers 4-H club held their Community Club meeting on February 9th. They held their business meeting and received their member certificates and member pins.

County Center 4-H Club











During the February County Center 4-H Club meeting, the club made “Valentines for Vets.” Everyone was involved in making the Valentines: 4-Hers, leaders, and parents. Valentines will be taken to the VA hospital in Battle Creek.

4-H at the MSU Women's Basketball Game




On January 25 Kalamazoo County 4-H members had the opportunity to attend the Lady Spartan's Basketball game versus Wisconsin with many other 4-H members throughout the state. It was an opportunity to get together and celebrate the many things 4-H has to offer. MSU came out victorious 69-60 with a strong showing by Kalamazoo's own Cetera Washington #15.

Reindeer and 4-H????












Kalamazoo County 4-H is exploring the possibilty of having Reindeer as a project. Did you know someone could bring a reindeer to the fair the same way someone would bring a steer? Would you be interested in showing a reindeer?



Schoolcraft Farmers and Farmettes




Schoolcraft held their club meeting at the Schoolcraft Upper Elementary School. They have gone to having club meetings every other month. At their February meeting they prepared for the upcoming 4-H benefit auction and other events for the next 2 months.


Galesburg United




The Galesburg United Community Club held their meeting on February 2 in the Galesburg Elementary cafeteria. At this meeting they prepared for the Benefit Auction and discussed upcoming activities and ways the club could fund them.
